Liz Myers

As a child, singer-songwriter Liz Myers didn't find it strange watching her father talk to God every night. In fact she found it comforting. Like most little girls, her father was always on a pedestal for her, but in this case, the pedestal was a real one, since her father was the local Baptist minister? But, still, there was that bit of a rebellious nature in her, which has found its outlet in the highly creative and yet personal world of singing and music composition.

At the age of 21, Myers found herself on her way to Fontainebleau, France to study under the auspicious direction of the famous classical mentor, Nadia Boulanger.

Her stay in France resulted in a life long appreciation for the French culture and language. Shortly thereafter, she landed a position as the Musical Director of the Broadway hit "Grease". While touring with the show, Liz met sonngwriter partner, John Trivers, and began her career as a singer/songwriter.

Le Rendez-Vous is Myers' first solo venture. In it, she explores the expanded world of the concept CD as singer, songwriter and author. The album is a compilation of songs both in English and French, which are tied together by the narration of Myers in the opening song, "Start Thinking With Your Heart." This narration represents the internal dialog of the main character, Jennifer, whose thoughts and feelings are exhibited in the text. The photo journal that accompanies the album gives the feeling of a personal travelogue and underscores the individuality that Myers promotes. She describes this work as a "love story, but with complications."

Le Rendez-Vous was recorded in the U.K. and Los Angeles with world-renowned musicians, such as Chad Wackerman (German artist/Frank Zappas's band), Michael Thompson (recorded with Madonna & Babyface) and Egyptian percussionist Hossam Ramzy (Peter Gabriel and Jimmy Page/Robert Plant). The music is in the Pop/Rock genre with strong "World" influences.

Myers' speaking voice comes naturally to the daughter of a preacher. People have compared her to Tori Amos, Alanis Morrisette, and Enya, but Myers thinks her voice is distinctively unique. "I definately think that I sing better when I sing French lyrics. Maybe it's all the vowels," she laughs.
